Crystal conforms to all elements of the ISO 9001:2000 Quality Standards and is audited for conformity every six months. Our organization was surveyed by Orion Registrar Inc. and certified compliant on June 30, 2004. ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System can be made available for review.
Every employee has a responsibility to uphold the quality system at Crystal. The interrelation of personnel who manage, perform, and verify work-affecting quality is identified as one of Crystal's ISO 9001:2000 Quality Objectives. Crystal's out-of-box philosophy is to deliver products and services with zero defects. Every employee is incented to ensure products are delivered as such, thus every employee is empowered to stop any product shipment if there is a "quality" concern. Each Crystal employee brings an average of over 15 years experience to building complex electronic assemblies meeting both rigorous commercial and government standards.
Quality assurance practices:
- All backplanes are 100% tested for functionality of all PCI & ISA bus connectors and power supply feeds.
- All power supplies are 100% tested and all outputs are measured under load.
- All servers are 100% Hi-Potential tested to ensure isolation of chassis ground from voltage mains.
- All memory is functionally tested.
- Servers are exposed to vibration screening up to 2g at 50-60 Hz for 15 minutes prior to final testing to detect loose fittings, cold solders, etc.
- Servers have BIOS settings customized to customers' specifications.
- All hard drives are functionally tested.
- All cable harnesses are verified for functionality and positive connection.
- All peripheral cards are checked for functional performance using vendor diagnostics software.
- All customer software applications are completely tested per specifications from the customer.
- All servers are exercised continuously using a comprehensive computer functionality and diagnostic tool for a minimum of 12 hours with a barrage test set for 10 hours, with sequential tests on all major components.
- All servers have a printed log detailing a complete benchmark for the server, and the results of the 10-hour barrage and sequential tests. This log sheet is signed by the test technician and packed with each server.
- All servers with floppy drives include a Crystal boot-up QA floppy disc to confirm out-of-box functionality as part of the Crystal zero out-of-box program.
- All complete servers receive a `Crystal Quality Sticker` after all testing is complete to ensure the user that the server was tested complete prior to delivery.
- All servers are shipped inside a heavy-duty double wall recyclable container that has been designed and tested for International shipment of computer products. An anti-static bag and shock absorbing cushioning polyethylene extrusions house each server inside the container.
